L’Holi Festival is not just the festival of colors; it is the moment when India breaks down every social barrier to celebrate the victory of good over evil and the arrival of spring. In this photographic reportage, I wanted to document the overwhelming energy of this celebration, where thousands of people merge into a single chromatic mass amid clouds of dust gulal e canti devozionali.
Composition and Dynamism: In a context where everything happens quickly, the challenge was finding order within chaos. Photography allowed me to freeze instants of pure energy — the throwing of a handful of color, an embrace between strangers, the frenetic dance — creating a story that is at once an anthropological document and an aesthetic celebration.
Creating the project on the Holi Festival required a constant physical presence and a vision able to keep from being overwhelmed by the event. This photographic work stems from the desire to convey the intensity of a total sensory experience, placing technique at the service of wonder. My commitment was to translate into shots the power of a tradition that, through color, manages to tell the vibrant, untamable soul of India.
